Today is the last day The Red Lake County Fair will be open in Oklee. The Tri-Valley Opportunity Council Transportation Programs are offering round trips for rides to the fair. The cost is $10 for a round trip within Red Lake County. Rides within Oklee are $2 for the Round trip. T.H.E. The Harvest Church is hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser today, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. This will be a free-will donation, so give what you can! The event will be to help fundraise for the Church’s students to go to the UNITE North Conference at Bethel University in Minneapolis from July 14-17.

Due to staffing issues, Twig and Branch Collection scheduled for Monday, June 27 will be covered over a two-day period. Monday’s collection will take care of Monday – Wednesday’s garbage routes and Tuesday’s collection will take care of Thursday and Friday’s garbage routes.

Crookston Parks & Rec will be offering K-2nd grade flag football and 3rd & 4th-grade tackle football for the 2022 Fall Season. This year, they will be joining the GF Youth Football League. The Pirate Pride Football Camp for 3rd -6th grade will be from August 2 to the 4 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Crookston High School. RiverView Health is offering a free Scrubs Camp to juniors and seniors in high school for the 2022-23 School Year that are thinking about a career in healthcare. The Northwest Research and Outreach Center’s (NWROC) annual Crops and Soils Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 20.  The event location will take place at the maintenance/farm operations building. The building is located on the south side of Hwy 71 on NWROC’s campus. Parking is available across from NWROC’s office building. Registration and CEU signup for the morning program is 7:30 a.m. with Small Grains tours beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration and CEU signup for the afternoon sugarbeet tour opens at 12:15 p.m. The sugarbeet program will start at 12:45 p.m. with two tours running simultaneously. The Crookston Splash Pad at the Ray Ecklund Complex is open from every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. through Labor Day.

The Crookston High School is opening its Weight Room for all High School students to use this summer. The Room will be open Monday through Friday for 9th-12th grade students from 6:00 to 7:15 a.m. or 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for 7th and 8th-grade students from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Twig and Branch Collection will be held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, running from May through October. Place the materials on your curbside. Branches must be cut in four-foot lengths and bundled in order for the crews to take them away. Any branches or tree trunks not cut to this length and bundled will be left for the owner to haul away. Twigs may be in boxes or bags. Individuals removing their diseased elm trees should call City Hall to schedule a pickup.

Second booster doses of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are now available at Altru Clinic in Crookston for people 50 and older and those 12 and older who are immunocompromised. The second booster dose must be administered at least four months after the first booster. Adults who received Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) for their primary vaccine and booster dose at least four months ago may now receive a second booster dose of Pfizer or Moderna only.
